Limitation Of Electromagnetic Wave Theory

Electromagnetic wave theory was successful in explaining the properties of light such as diffraction etc but it could not explain the following.

1. The phenomenon of black body radiation.

2. The photoelectric effect.

3. The variation of heat capacity of solids as a function of temperature.

4. the line spectra of atoms with special reference to hydrogen.
